I had the chance to speak with “Mr. Cavalier” at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards on Wednesday night and he was not impressed with Michelle Beadle’s nickname for LeBron James.
“Just tell her I don’t think LeBron would like to be called the Akron Hammer,” said Carr. “Tell her to check with LeBron before she labels him that.”
Beadle’s took the hammer part from Carr, who has a few catchphases he uses during Cavaliers telecasts. His “Throws the Hammer Down” is one of the most recognizable. Beadle then added Akron, which is LeBron’s hometown.
