DSS #071 : “The Boss, DL Stories, and Ms. Parr” : (July 17, 2010)

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Saturday, July 17th, 2010, 3:07 pm

DSS #071 - July 17, 2010

“The Dugout Sports Show” was live from Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford, Ohio on July 17th. I was joined by Tony Mazur from the Cleveland Sports Report.

We were also joined by AM 850 WKNR sports talk show host Sabrina Parr.  She joined our show right after purchasing one of the many great vichles at Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford. She came on and talked about LeBron leaving Cleveland, the impact on the city, and also a little Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football.

You can listen to the Sabrina Parr interview podcast here.

We hit on the wackiest MLB disabled list stories that hit the news recently as well as the great ones from years past.  The passing of George Steinbrenner was discussed including the million dollar question…what if “The Boss” took over the Cleveland Indians back in the 70s?

PROGRAMMING NOTE: On July 31st, we will have our “DSS Listener Appreciation Day” at Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru from 10am-2pm ET. We will be broadcasting outside, Wii HR Derby will be out, and prizes to go around. So make sure to come on out! Great times, great food, and prizes! And more importantly, it’s the chance for us to say thank you to the listeners! More information will be posted!

“The Dugout Sports Show” is live every Saturday from 11am-1pm ET

Cavs Legend Jim Chones Sounds Off On LeBron James

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Monday, July 12th, 2010, 11:34 pm

Former Cleveland Cavalier Jim Chones had some choice words for LeBron James. (Katie Brinager/DSS)

We had former Cleveland Cavalier and current radio personality JIM CHONES on our July 10th show live from Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford. Our main topic was Jim’s reaction to LeBron James leaving to play for the Miami Heat.

Chones had some choice words on the situation. He also hit on the state of the Cavaliers roster and what the Cavs should and could do to improve their chances for next season.

Jim played with the Cavaliers from 1974 to 1979. He was a part of the “Miracle at Richfield” in during the ‘75-’76 season. Jim went on to win an NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1980. Jim now does postgame analysis on WTAM 1100 following Cavs games and does some analyst work for the Milwaukee Bucks.

You can listen to our “LeBron Shames” show here.

DSS #066 : “Kelli Stack: USA Womens Hockey” (June 5, 2010)

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Wednesday, June 9th, 2010, 9:03 pm

“The Dugout Sports Show” was live from Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford, Ohio on June 5th. I was joined by Tony Mazur from the Cleveland Sports Report and Brendan Bowers from StepienRules.com. We started the first half hour of the show talking about Danny Ferry resigning from his post as general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The discussion then turned to LeBron James and his “Free Agency Tour”.

Kelli Stack, USA Womens Hockey Team 2010

For the last hour of the show, we welcomed KELLI STACK live on set. Stack won sliver medal in the 2010 Winter Olympics while playing for the USA Womens Hockey Team. She even brought her silver medal and jersey with her! We discussed playing at Boston College, in the Olympics, her teammates, and also what she would do if she was LeBron James. You can listen to the interview portion here.

Other topics discussed were the “Imperfect Game”, John Wooden passing away, and where other free agents in the NBA might end up.

DSS #061 : Guests Jim Chones & Mike Gorman (May 1, 2010)

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Sunday, May 2nd, 2010, 3:05 am

“The Dugout Sports Show” was live from Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford, Ohio on May 1st and had a full roster of guests and special co-hosts.

DSS writer Tony Mazur graced his presence along with Brendan Bowers from StepienRules.com to be our co-hosts for this episode. But Jim Chones, former Cleveland Cavalier, started the show off with a bang. Jim joined us on-site to talk Cavaliers/Celtics and what both teams need to do to win this series. (Jim predicted the Cavaliers will win). We also played my interview with Boston Celtics television play by play announcer Mike Gorman, who predicted the Celtics will win the series in six games.

Tony, Brendan, and I hit on Cavs/Celtics, the Indians, the Browns draft and other miscellanous sports stories, that included a baseball player passing a kidney stone during a game. Ouch. Hopefully listening to this show can’t compare to that. Enjoy!

“The Dugout Sports Show” is live every Saturday from 11am-1pm ET at Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford, Ohio.
