DSS #071 - July 17, 2010
“The Dugout Sports Show” was live from Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford, Ohio on July 17th. I was joined by Tony Mazur from theCleveland Sports Report.
We were also joined by AM 850 WKNR sports talk show host Sabrina Parr. She joined our show right after purchasing one of the many great vichles at Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford. She came on and talked about LeBron leaving Cleveland, the impact on the city, and also a little Cleveland Browns and Ohio State football.
We hit on the wackiest MLB disabled list stories that hit the news recently as well as the great ones from years past. The passing of George Steinbrenner was discussed including the million dollar question…what if “The Boss” took over the Cleveland Indians back in the 70s?
PROGRAMMING NOTE: On July 31st, we will have our “DSS Listener Appreciation Day” at Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru from 10am-2pm ET. We will be broadcasting outside, Wii HR Derby will be out, and prizes to go around. So make sure to come on out! Great times, great food, and prizes! And more importantly, it’s the chance for us to say thank you to the listeners! More information will be posted!

Former Cleveland Cavalier Jim Chones had some choice words for LeBron James. (Katie Brinager/DSS)
We had former Cleveland Cavalier and current radio personality JIM CHONES on our July 10th show live from Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford. Our main topic was Jim’s reaction to LeBron James leaving to play for the Miami Heat.
Chones had some choice words on the situation. He also hit on the state of the Cavaliers roster and what the Cavs should and could do to improve their chances for next season.
Jim played with the Cavaliers from 1974 to 1979. He was a part of the “Miracle at Richfield” in during the ‘75-’76 season. Jim went on to win an NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1980. Jim now does postgame analysis on WTAM 1100 following Cavs games and does some analyst work for the Milwaukee Bucks.

We were also joined by former Cleveland Cavalier JIM CHONES. He sounded off on LeBron James and his decision to leave Cleveland for South Beach to join the Miami Heat.
Most of the show was dedicated to LeBron and the disgust Cavs fans showed towards the former ‘King’ of Cleveland.

“The Dugout Sports Show” was live from Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford, Ohio on May 15th and Tony Mazur I discussed the end of the Cleveland Cavaliers season. We also had CHRIS BALLARD from Sports Illustrated on the show to discuss his latest article on Shaquille O’Neal.
Most of the show was on the end of an era in Cleveland Cavalier basketball, the prospect of LeBron James leaving Cleveland, Cleveland Indians baseball, and a whole potpourri of sports stories.
“The Dugout Sports Show” is live every Saturday from 11am-1pm ET at Ganley Volkswagen/Subaru in Bedford, Ohio.
Tony, Brendan, and I hit on Cavs/Celtics, the Indians, the Browns draft and other miscellanous sports stories, that included a baseball player passing a kidney stone during a game. Ouch. Hopefully listening to this show can’t compare to that. Enjoy!
