One of those nicknames for Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James does not belong. Can you guess it? If you picked “The Akron Hammer”, you are correct. Well, in my opinion.
But one sports personality thinks otherwise.

MICHELLE BEADLE, co-host of “SportsNation”, a show on ESPN2, came up with the “Akron Hammer” nickname and believes that should reign supreme. I had the chance to interview Michelle yesterday about the nickname and we had a fun debate with it.

Michelle may have Jalen Rose and John Anderson, both who are with ESPN, on her side, but I have ESPN NBA reporter Chris Broussard, Michelle’s co-host Colin Cowherd, and ESPN personality Skip Bayless on mine. Will both these lists grow?

And will this come down to a shootout between Michelle and I? If I win, Michelle is banned from calling him the “Akron Hammer”. And if she wins, I will wear a sandwich board with “Akron Hammer” written on it and wear it around Quicken Loans Arena before a game.

Bottom line, does “The King” like it? I asked LeBron if he likes the nickname after the Cavs/Timberwolves game last night, and he told me “Haven’t heard of it”.
