On Oct. 28, I was a guest to the “Project Spurs” Marathon Show to talk about the Cleveland Cavaliers and the possible matchup between the Spurs/Cavs in the NBA Finals.
The “Project Spurs” Marathon Show is about 10 hours of live broadcasting leading up to the first Spurs game of the 2009-10 season. I don’t know how they are doing it, but kudos to them. Even though the Cavs would beat the Spurs in a seven game series. Oh, speaking of that, Jeff Garcia said the Spurs would beat the Cavs in five games. Cavs fans, send your hate mail here to their website.

PANEL 3: Co-Existing – Sharing Content And Making The Most Of Sports Info Online
Tom Jolly, New York Times Sports Editor Jeff Garcia, Project Spurs
The current newspaper world is moving more and more into an online format. How do mainstream media and bloggers share content and information without competing for ad revenues? How can the two exist and work together to increase visibility and revenues for all entities? How can both channels cross-link and share content to increase visitors and provide good, thoughtful content?

The highly acclaimed “8th Seed” NBA podcast (ok, maybe not highly acclaimed) went LIVE for the first time in it’s short history on Thursday, October 22nd. The show was broadcasted live on SportsTalkCLEVELAND with yours truly hosting the show for the first time. All eight guys were present as we previewed the NBA and gave our previews for each of our individual team. We also hit on our favorites in each conference and picked our 2009-10 NBA Champions. Not only did we have the same insanity ensue as we always do, I think we had our most heated debate after Adam Best from Fansided.com said the Lakers have one of the best lineups ever. You will laugh, cry, and shake your head. Enjoy.
The 8th Seed lineup consists of: Yours truly, Jeff Garcia & Mike DeLeon from Project Spurs, John Karalis from Reds Army, Adam Best from Fansided.com, Jared Wade from Both Teams Played Hard / Eight Points Nine Seconds, Zach Harper from Cowbell Kingdom and Talk Hoops, and Rey Moralde of The No Look Pass.
And guys, next time we do this live, you CAN talk during the breaks. Haha.

I, Glenn, your host of “The Dugout Sports Show” and “The RootZoo Review” do a once a month podcast with seven other bloggers/intelligent men to cover the most recent NBA news, called “The 8th Seed“.

As host of The Dugout Sports Show, I have interviewed a bunch of cool people, broadcasted live from New York City, received free bottles of liquor and been bombarded with groupies. Ok, nevermind the groupies part, but still, I have done some pretty cool things on this show. But nothing compares to being involved with the best NBA 8-man podcast on the internet. Well, the ONLY 8-man podcast, “The 8th Seed”.
Basically it is 8 guys talking about the biggest news in the NBA. From trades to the NBA Draft to who is going to win it all next year, these guys take the sport and their teams seriously.
But we had our first show this past Sunday and we will be giving you one show a month, with each guy hosting and being the moderator. I will be hosting the show in October.

After our broadcast at “Blogs with Balls” in New York City, we here at The Dugout Sports Show have been humbled by the wide spread shout-outs and credit and “bings” we have received. Not only by our fellow bloggers and internet sports talk shows, by but mainstream media, like ESPN.
So we would like to take some time and recognize who has mentioned DSS in their blogs and give THEM a shoutout. Because without you, the listener, our show would not be here today. Yes, we have been on the air for only 6 months, but seriously, if we didn’t have you guys, none of this would be possible. So thank you.
1. First, I want to recognize the people over at Project Spurs/Spurscast. Jeff Garcia and Michael De Leon put on a awesome show every week about the Spurs and other NBA topics. But when I was in attendance at “Blogs with Balls”, they invited me to be a guest on their show. We talked about DSS, Lebron James, and the NBA Finals. So, here is the audio of my interview. It starts after the intro.
2. Then, the Spurscast had their drinkoff, as Jimmy Castro from Chronicles of Crotty and Michael De Leon from Project Spurs faced off to drink five beers, first one wins. I had the privilege to call the “play by play” of this event. Turned out to be awesome! And I will be challenging Mike at BwB 2.0 in Las Vegas!
3. Amanda Rykoff, from ESPN came on our show at “Blogs with Balls” in NYC. We talked a lot about the conference and baseball in general, including our Indians beating her Yankees in the 2007 Playoffs. But that is for another time! She was kind enough to give us a shout out on her ESPN Podcast, “Play Ball”. Check it out. But here is her “shout out”:
4. Chris Lucas, Co-Founder of Blogs with Balls and Hugging Harold Reynolds, came on our show in New York City and gave us kind words. We really appreciate the comments and also letting DSS broadcast live from the event. Here is what he said to say:
We do appreciate the support we have gotten, not only from “Blogs with Balls”, but from Day One. Everyone who listened to our show back in January when we were lucky to get 2 people to listen to our show (which turned out to be mom and dad) and have stuck with us.
