Hmmm...I wonder if she has a future in coaching...
I recently interviewed LINDSAY McCORMICK who is a writer for ESPN’s The Magazine Page 2. We talked about everything sports, including college football, the NFL, Tim Tebow, her favorite interview, and getting the chance to do what she loves, which is cover sports.

Lindsay McCormick is a reporter and host from Houston, TX who has appeared on ESPN.com’s “Streak for the Cash,” ESPN.com’s “College Pick’em,” MtvU’s “The Dean’s List,” the Tige Rodgers Morning Show on Mix 96.7 as a guest analyst and as a sports reporter covering the Auburn University football team and NFL games for ESPN the Magazine.
Lindsay was kind enough to write a special piece for “The Dugout Sports Show” about her experience during Super Bowl XLIV weekend in Miami, Florida.
I know I am not playing in the NFL Pro Bowl or will I ever play in the Pro Bowl, but after spending the past few days in Miami, I don’t have a clue what Ochocinco and his co-workers have to complain about. It may not be Hawaii, but this place is something special and the parties the former and current players are attending are nothing less than extravagant.

DSS host/head writer Glenn Moore interviews Cleveland Cavaliers TV Color Analyst Austin Carr about the "Akron Hammer" nickname. (Katie Brinager / The Dugout Sports Show)
The “Anti-Akron Hammer Crusade” are gaining followers daily!
Meet our newest member: Cleveland Cavaliers TV Color Analyst/Pregame Host: AUSTIN CARR
I had the chance to speak with “Mr. Cavalier” at the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards on Wednesday night and he was not impressed with Michelle Beadle’s nickname for LeBron James.
“Just tell her I don’t think LeBron would like to be called the Akron Hammer,” said Carr. “Tell her to check with LeBron before she labels him that.”
Beadle’s took the hammer part from Carr, who has a few catchphases he uses during Cavaliers telecasts. His “Throws the Hammer Down” is one of the most recognizable. Beadle then added Akron, which is LeBron’s hometown.

Chris Broussard of ESPN (Photo Courtsey of Chris Broussard's Twitter Account)
I recently had the chance to speak with ESPN’s NBA Insider, Chris Broussard last week. Not only did we talk about the world of the NBA, we also hit on his time here in Cleveland and his football career. A great interview that lasts over 30 minutes!
Some highlights from the interview:
-Went to Holy Name High School, which is located near Cleveland, Ohio
-Broke the collarbone of former Green Bay Packer Dorsey Levens while playing in middle school
-Had dreams of going to USC and being the next great running back
-Doesn’t believe Amar’e Stoudemire will be traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers
-Thinks LeBron James will stay in Cleveland (70% he does)
-More likely the Cavaliers move Zydrunas Ilgauskas than J.J. Hickson before the trading deadline
-Antawn Jamison fits right in with the Cavaliers -NBA Finals Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers-L.A. Lakers (leaning more towards Cavs winning the title in six game series)
One of those nicknames for Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James does not belong. Can you guess it? If you picked “The Akron Hammer”, you are correct. Well, in my opinion.
But one sports personality thinks otherwise.
MICHELLE BEADLE, co-host of “SportsNation”, a show on ESPN2, came up with the “Akron Hammer” nickname and believes that should reign supreme. I had the chance to interview Michelle yesterday about the nickname and we had a fun debate with it.
Michelle may have Jalen Rose and John Anderson, both who are with ESPN, on her side, but I have ESPN NBA reporter Chris Broussard, Michelle’s co-host Colin Cowherd, and ESPN personality Skip Bayless on mine. Will both these lists grow?
And will this come down to a shootout between Michelle and I? If I win, Michelle is banned from calling him the “Akron Hammer”. And if she wins, I will wear a sandwich board with “Akron Hammer” written on it and wear it around Quicken Loans Arena before a game.
Bottom line, does “The King” like it? I asked LeBron if he likes the nickname after the Cavs/Timberwolves game last night, and he told me “Haven’t heard of it”.

The Dugout Sports Show gave you their reactions to all the MLB trades that were made at the deadline. From Victor Martinez going to Boston to Jarrod Washburn going to Detroit. Also, we covered the Jake Peavy deal, as we had ADAM RUSSELL, one of the players traded from Chicago to San Diego. Adam, who is from the Cleveland area, talked about his reaction and what he expects going to San Diego. He also noted that Glenn was a 10x better hitter than he was. Great guy and good luck to him at S.D.
Also, we had UFC/MMA Legend FRANK SHAMROCK on the show. He talked about his sour relationship with UFC and how he wants to fight Dana White. Also, look for his new book coming out next year and he is making a comeback. Look for him in the octagon very, very soon.
And finally, AMY K. NELSON, from ESPN, joined us to talk a little about the MLB steroid issue. She gave her two cents about the situation, as it was a very interesting interview.

Shaquille O’Neal hosted WWE’s ‘Monday Night RAW’ last night in Washington D.C. As you may or may not know, being a huge WWE fan and also a huge Cleveland Cavalier fan, I was really looking forward to seeing Shaq in the squared-circle. Before I get into my “assessment” on Shaq’s performance, you can watch some highlights from the night.
Now, I know what you are thinking. Yea, wrestling is fake, it’s all planned out, blah blah blah. But you have to admit, Shaq did an amazing job hosting RAW. He brought his active personality to the show and fit right in with the confrontations. He also added some comedy, as he called famed wrestler Chris Jericho, “Christina”. He also called the world’s largest athlete, Big Show, who stands at 7′4″, 500 pounds “Fatboy”. But the bit with Jericho and Shaq was the best highlight of the night. Jericho is amazing on the mic and him and Shaq fit right in. But the one problem I have with the whole night was the skit where Shaq and wrestler, Santino Marella are playing Scrabble. As you saw in the video above, they stole this skit straight from ESPN. As much as I have few reservations against ESPN, stealing someone else’s creative genius is just straight wrong. Especially with Vince McMahon, WWE owner, at the helm. I would have thought he was better than that. And SVP is right, it is just lazy.
But other than that, I thought the whole night was great for Shaq and WWE. I don’t see any other guest host being as personable and outgoing as he was.
