Cleveland Indians Director of Communications and Creative Services, CURTIS DANBURG, stopped by the show to talk some Indians baseball. We also hit on the business aspect of the team that includes social media and promotion.

On our second show, broadcasting live from Arizona, we had Cleveland Indians Director of Communications CURTIS DANBURG on the show to talk the business/promotions aspect of the team. We discussed the Indians and social media, players who use social media to connect with fans, and also about the spring training facility in Goodyear.
For the rest of the show, we talked Cavs/Celtics, Ohio State winning the Big Ten Tournament, went over the NCAA Tournament bracket, and recapped the Indians/San Diego Padres game.

Professional Sports Franchises are using new social media to promote their team and key players. From selling tickets to team products, they have opened up to the new wave of promoting their services and products.
“The Dugout Sports Show”/OKG Media and Media Frenzy Communications would like to announce “Sports Media 360”. It will be held on the weekend of October 23-25 in Cleveland, Ohio. SM360 is a conference bringing together mainstream sports journalists, sports bloggers and sports public relations professionals for a weekend. From panels consisting of the best bloggers and well respected journalists in the sports world, to how-to workshops ranging from getting your blog noticed, building credibility with teams’ public relations and communications professionals and starting a sports related podcast. There will also be workshops for the student interested in a career in sports journalism or photography.
“Sports Media 360″ main event convention will be held on Saturday, October 24 at Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Indians. Friday evening will be a networking/tailgate party in downtown Cleveland. And Saturday night will be a “After Party” kind of event. And finally, Sunday will have our brunch for those who are still in town, with a chance to watch some NFL games with fellow journalists, bloggers, and new sports media professionals.
