Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Monday, June 29th, 2009, 9:22 am

Robert Griffith joined us on June 27th to talk some old football stories and about his time here in Cleveland. He mentioned the loss he endured in 2000, where the Giants pounded the Vikings 41-0. He stated that there have might be some stealing signals on the Giants part that would have affected the outcome. Apparently, he wasn’t the only Viking to think so either.

Shaq to Cavs! Shaq to Cavs!

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Thursday, June 25th, 2009, 1:08 am

I love Twitter. You can get so much information in so little time. But mainly because that’s how I heard that Shaq was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is the final piece of the puzzle. Someone who can spilt time with Zydrunas Ilgauskas and give us some World Championship experience.  I can not wait for the season to start! This is the best trade in Cleveland history since……Kenny Lofton for Eddie Taubensee.

But what is even more funny is how Shaq is acting like this trade isn’t happening. Here is what he has posted on his Twitter since the trade was posted on ESPN.com:

Allonso: @THE_REAL_SHAQ is it true u a CLEVELAND CAVALIER

Shaq: @allonso I didn’t hear dat yet

Shaq: @jds1258 I dnt have cable

DIITR3Y: @the_real_shaq U CLEVELAND BOUND…shaq found out he was traded thru twitter! lmao….hahahaaaaaa

Shaq: @DJJTR3Y I kno right

All I know is come the 2009 season, the Cavs have to be the #1 team to beat in the East, if not the entire NBA. Shaq will be a dominant force, because he will be getting rest and splitting time with Z. And this will make Z more efficient because of the rest he will get. Win win situation for the Cavs. Can’t forget LeBron James. Either double team Shaq or LeBron. Pick your poison.

Great minds think alike. FanSided.com also picked this up.

What They Are Saying About DSS

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Thursday, June 25th, 2009, 12:47 am

After our broadcast at “Blogs with Balls” in New York City, we here at The Dugout Sports Show have been humbled by the wide spread shout-outs and credit and “bings” we have received. Not only by our fellow bloggers and internet sports talk shows, by but mainstream media, like ESPN.

So we would like to take some time and recognize who has mentioned DSS in their blogs and give THEM a shoutout. Because without you, the listener, our show would not be here today. Yes, we have been on the air for only 6 months, but seriously, if we didn’t have you guys, none of this would be possible. So thank you.

1. First, I want to recognize the people over at Project Spurs/Spurscast. Jeff Garcia and Michael De Leon put on a awesome show every week about the Spurs and other NBA topics. But when I was in attendance at “Blogs with Balls”, they invited me to be a guest on their show. We talked about DSS, Lebron James, and the NBA Finals. So, here is the audio of my interview. It starts after the intro.

2. Then, the Spurscast had their drinkoff, as Jimmy Castro from Chronicles of Crotty and Michael De Leon from Project Spurs faced off to drink five beers, first one wins. I had the privilege to call the “play by play” of this event. Turned out to be awesome! And I will be challenging Mike at BwB 2.0 in Las Vegas!

3. Amanda Rykoff, from ESPN came on our show at “Blogs with Balls” in NYC. We talked a lot about the conference and baseball in general, including our Indians beating her Yankees in the 2007 Playoffs. But that is for another time! She was kind enough to give us a shout out on her ESPN Podcast, “Play Ball”. Check it out. But here is her “shout out”:

4. Chris Lucas, Co-Founder of Blogs with Balls and Hugging Harold Reynolds, came on our show in New York City and gave us kind words. We really appreciate the comments and also letting DSS broadcast live from the event. Here is what he said to say:

We do appreciate the support we have gotten, not only from “Blogs with Balls”, but from Day One. Everyone who listened to our show back in January when we were lucky to get 2 people to listen to our show (which turned out to be mom and dad) and have stuck with us.

DSS Featured on ESPN.com

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Wednesday, June 24th, 2009, 12:53 pm

The Dugout Sports Show recently did a interview with Michigan State Head Football Coach, Mark Dantonio. They talked about this coming season, his experience at Ohio State, and Maurice Clarett. The question popped up if a NFL team wanted Dantonio, or even another highly respected college team, would he leave Michigan State.

ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg wrote an article on Dantonio’s answer and gave credit to The Dugout Sports Show.

You can read the article here: DSS on ESPN

You can listen to the interview here: Mark Dantonio Interview

Also, FreePress and StateNews also featured our interview on their respective websites.

Michigan State Head Football Coach Mark Dantonio recently came on our June 20th show to talk some MSU football. He discussed everything from this coming season, Maurcie Clarett, if LSU/USC could beat the Detroit Lions of last year, and if he would ever leave MSU for a NFL gig or another college football team.

The motto for our show this week was “Bad Cell Phone Connections”. Both our guests, Michigan State Head Football Coach Mark Dantonio and Minnesota Vikings WR Bernard Berrian, had cell phone trouble. But overall, the interviews were great!

Four Left Turns Don’t Make A Right.

Posted By Glenn S. Moore on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009, 6:11 pm

While in New York City two weekends ago (for Blogs with Balls), I stumbled upon a section of the M&M World store that would make Chris, producer our show, proud.  Everyone who listens to our show knows we rip on Chris for liking NASCAR and everyone knows we give a whole 5 seconds of NASCAR news a month on our show. But not only were there little NASCAR toy cars but there was an actually race day jacket for the #18 car, Kyle Busch. (Please do not ask me how I know that). So I figured to take some pictures for Chris. And this concludes our NASCAR reference for the month.

But wait, there is more. Here is a hilarious classic clip of Dale Earnhardt talking.

Be sure to listen to Chris’ show, Uncensored Net Noise, Live every Friday from 9-12 PM EST at www.morningshowcentral.com
