Another week, another “Boobie’s Podcast” with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson.
Gibson will be doing an once a week recorded show throughout the NBA playoffs and beyond on DSS called “Boobie’s Podcast”. Make sure to check out the other episodes of “Boobie’s Podcast”.
In this episode, we talked about former Cavs coach Mike Brown getting the Los Angeles Lakers job and whether Brown was let go from the Cavaliers in effort to keep LeBron James and if Brown would have stayed if Cavs knew James was leaving.
On Mike Brown hiring in LA:
“I was a little surprised because I haven’t really heard his name that much. As far as him being a great candidate for the job, no, that didn’t surprise me by him getting picked. Because playing for him, I got to see what kind of a great coach he was and more-so a people person. And I think he will do a great job out there with that veteran ball club.”
We also discussed this comment from James after his Miami Heat defeated the Chicago Bulls this week: “I wanted to team up with some guys that would never die down in the moment. The opportunity presented itself with this great organization and we made it happen.”
On LeBron’s comments:
“The way it’s said, you can’t help but take it personal. I would prefer to talk to him personally and say, ”Exactly what did you mean when you said this comment? What point were you trying to make?”…I take comments like that and when you speak out and you feel the need for everybody to hear what you are saying, it’s kind of like admission. By you saying that, I don’t think great players should feel the need to say this about a team or say that about a team. I think what it all boils down to if you’re great, you go play great, be great and everybody will realize you’re great. And you wouldn’t have to let it be known that everybody else was less great. Great players shouldn’t have to do that. So I feel like it’s kind of an admission. He might have needed some help. He might have needed to go somewhere and find someone who is a little greater so maybe he wouldn’t die down in those moments.”
He also talked about what happened last year in the playoffs against the Boston Celtics and the rumors of LeBron’s mother, Gloria James and Delonte West.
His view on what happened last year in playoffs:
“I didnt see anything different happen behind the scenes. There wasn’t an altercation in the locker room. And all the speculation about his mom (Gloria James) and my teammate (Delonte West), I think that is just bull. I don’t think anybody should ever say anything like that. Disrespectful to his mother. On the flip side of all that, once again, in the situation like that, we got beat. So, I feel like a great player would do or what a player whose deteremind to be that would just say okay we got beat, I gotta do better. Simple as that. Everybody on the team should take accountability for what happened and figure it out and move forward. It’s not about pointing a finger that way, pointing a finger that way, the finger should always be pointed at yourself, what could I have done better.”
And he also answered the question burning in Cavs fans minds since last year.
Did LeBron quit during the Boston series:
“A lot of it is speculation. Nobody knows. But me being a player and on the team, I didn’t feel like he quit. I just feel like they beat us. We lost that series, point blank. They out-played us and they won the game.”
Later on in the podcast, we talked about the NBA Finals and his pick to win. And also how the big gap between games could hurt a hot team, like the Mavericks. And finally, discussed Russell Westbrook walking off the court without shaking hands with the Mavs.
Boobie will also be taking your questions in our upcoming mailbag portion of the podcast, so you can send those via email or Twitter.
Make sure to follow Boobie on Twitter and tell him what you think of the podcast!

Shut up already. I know we lost a great player but get over it already. Boobie needs to shut up, he’s nothing in this league. They threw a bone to the cavs by bringing him in the 3 point contest and he ” died in the moment”. Forget about Lebron, I loved it when he played for us but now he doesn’t…draft some good people and Move The F ON!!!
He is still a NBA player and former teammate of LeBron.
Yes, the city of Cleveland is getting over it, but I find it ridiculous LeBron still makes comments about his former teammates and the city of Cleveland.
Cavs fans are moving on, but doesn’t mean they can’t react when LeBron says something.
If you’d actually concentrate on what James is saying, you’d realize he’s taking a light jab at his former GM, not at his former teammates. He’s never mentioned anybody by name, and he had several dozen former teammates back when he was forced to play one on five every regular season and every playoff series. The fact he had little to no help speaks for itself, and he has personally embarrassed nobody.
James has been asked questions, and he’s answered them tactfully and very politically correct. Stop putting words in the guy’s mouth. And Gibson should stop doing the same.
The reason LeBron still brings it up is because he feels the guilt. He did betray millions of his hometown fans and he knows it. He did it in the worst way possible – by quitting in the playoffs, and than televising the stupid decision.
No matter how many championships he gets, he’ll always be the guy who quit on his hometown team in the playoffs when they really had the chance to take it all.
I think he knows that he did it the wrong way, but I feel he would have left either way.
I agree with your second point, that no matter how many rings he wins, he will always be the guy who couldn’t do it by himself.
Lebron did what he had to do the cavs suck so he went to miami heattttttt

lebron didnt quit on the playoff, all cavs fans need to stop saying that like gibson say they gat beat….boston is a strong contender to beat n lebron couldnt do it all by himself n that why he leave. secondly i gat a question for all cavs fans, what if lebron could have stay guarantee..nobody could have never says nothin about he quiting n also the way all nba players now a days playing their hardest i dont think one guy can do it all cuz it so hard this days compire to back then.

Why do people want to listen to such a talentless guy doing a Podcast from a stiff’s perspective. It’s not like he has anything revealing or interesting to say, he’s not giving any cogent analysis of anything that was or is happening. Just like the GM bozo that gave him that ridiculous contract, he’s nothing but a grandstanding blowhard. If he takes anything James says in a personal way, then perhaps he should.
